Hi middle school families,

I wanted to share some information about Service Day on Friday. All of our students will be participating in our annual Service Day (weather permitting - more information below). This is a day where we take a break from learning and classes to give back to our community here in Fairfield. Each Trojan Time chose a place to serve this year based on their values and the needs they saw within the community. Here are a few details you will need to know:

  • Many groups will be out of the middle school building from 9:00-12:00 on Friday. If, for any reason, you have plans to pick your child up early on Friday in that window of time, please call the office in advance so we can coordinate transportation.

  • Students will either need to bring their own lunch OR they may get a sack lunch from the school. Please have your child let their Trojan Time teacher know if they need a school sack lunch. We will also ask them.

  • Friday is looking to be pretty chilly. Please be sure your student dresses in plenty of layers and comfortable shoes.

  • There's also a chance for rain Friday. Since so many of our projects are outside, if it does rain, we will have to cancel Service Day and will just have a normal day of school. We will make that decision before dismissal on Thursday. If we cancel service day, Friday will be an A Day/5th grade Day 3. We would still ask students to bring their lunch OR have sack lunch from school (whatever they plan in advance) so our kitchen staff can be properly prepared for the day.

We are so excited for our day of service and hope that the weather cooperates so we are able to go out and benefit our amazing community!

As always, please let us know if you have any questions.
