Kohda is on fire right now in Trojan time. This past week we revisited our goals for the rest of the year. Kohda took this to a whole new level and really imagined his future self. We talked about this with habit #2 with begin with the end in mind. Kohda did a fabulous job outlining his ultimate life goal and setting an action plan on how to get there on a day-to-day basis. Super proud of your hard work and your great thinking!

Can’t say enough about this young man. Cylas is always caring for others. When walking down the hallway he always takes the time to stop to say hi and how are you. Thank you, Cylas, for being a great leader and caring for others! We appreciate you! 👏

Earlier this fall, 5th grader Taryn Roemen came to Mr. Jones and asked him if the 5th graders could get a volleyball net for their recess area. Mr. Jones thought this was a great idea, but wanted to be sure there were enough 5th graders interested in having a volleyball net, and also wanted Taryn to learn something in the process. He challenged her to start a petition and get signatures of all the people who supported the idea. Taryn took a few days and returned with over 50 signatures - from students AND staff! So, Mrs. Atwood ordered a nice volleyball net, and we just had to wait for a decent day to put it up. Today was that day! Mr. Jones and four 5th grade students put it up just east of our building. It looks great, and we hope students can enjoy it! We want our students to learn that their voice matters! Adults do listen to you! We are proud of Taryn for having an idea, speaking up, and taking action to make it happen. She showed passion and perseverance. In "Leader in Me'' language, Taryn exhibited habit 2 "begin with the end in mind" and habit 8 --> "find your voice." She had a mental creation or idea, and then took steps to make it happen. She also used her passion and gifts for communication as well! Thanks to Taryn for the idea, and to all the people who signed the petition. Finally, thank you to Jordan Miller, Olivia Manning, Taryn Roemen, and Raylinn Roll for helping Mr. Jones put up the net! She holds herself accountable and does her work with pride. Keep up the great work, Anshal. Quinn Settles has been chosen as March Student of the Month. Quinn has one of the most positive personalities. He always is in a good mood, or if he isn't, he proactively chooses to show otherwise. He works hard in class, and knows to get his work done first. Quinn has been helpful to his classmates, and has a patient and kind heart to others. He is well deserving of this award! Immoria can always be counted on to do the right thing. Although she is quiet, her work and actions speak volumes. Congratulations, Immoria! Elizabeth Stagers models all aspects of Trojan PRIDE every day. She treats others with kindness and respect and is always willing to help in any way needed. She is very kind and looks out for her classmates. She is a great participator in class discussions and activities. She makes good choices and strives to do the right thing at all times. Way to go, Elizabeth! Gabe Strong is an awesome example of what Trojan PRIDE is all about. He is so KIND and polite to everyone! He is always one to ask if he can help out in any way and will even take it upon himself to help without any prompting. He comes to class prepared and ready to learn with a great attitude. Keep doing what you're doing, and congratulations, Gabe! Lexi Wickenkamp is very organized and thoughtful in her school work. She is a very strong leader in the classroom by holding her classmates accountable to their roles in group work. She is also very responsible by communicating with her teachers when she is absent and will ask how to get assignments made up efficiently. The 8th grade team is proud of you, Lexi!
