Meet Sheila Clements

Sheila works at Washington Elementary as a Title Reading associate and will be retiring at the end of this school year. She is excited to become a Florida snowbird, traveling more and spending more time with family. Sheila is  an avid gardener and shell collector. She could spend endless hours playing in the dirt or walking the seashores.  She will be finishing up 24 years in education, 18 years with the AEA as a speech pathologist assistant and 6 years as an paraeducator. Sheila grew up and graduated from Fairfield High School. She then moved to Missouri and Florida. Later returned to be close to family, when her daughter Jessica was born with Down Syndrome and a severe heart defect. Sheila follows and cheers for the St Louis Cardinals and Iowa State Cyclones. Sheila is a big advocate for individuals born with disabilities and was a Special Olympics coach for 15 years, and was involved with Challenger baseball. Sheila loves working with the “younger” students and seeing their growth in reading while making social connections with them. Her family includes her husband, Scott, her two daughters, Jennifer and Jessica (deceased), 1 son, Justin, and his wife Kristen as well as 4 grandpuppies.

Sheila is a wonderful asset to our school.  She always goes above and beyond.  Whether it's helping kids in her reading groups or being on recess duty and crossing guard duty in every kind of weather, she always has a smile on her face.  She is always willing to help teachers if they need something done.  She cleans up after staff potlucks just to help everyone out. She does so many little extras to help our school run smoothly.  We appreciate you, Sheila! Thank you, Sheila, for all you do! We are sure glad you are a part of our team.
