Dear Families and Staff,

Early voting is now available for the November 3, 2026 election, which includes a $24.8 million general obligation bond referendum for the Fairfield Community School District.

If approved by at least 60% of voters, the funds would support the district’s phase 2 plan to address facility needs at Fairfield Middle School and provide students with an updated learning environment. As a reminder there is no plan to increase the levy!

Absentee ballots can be cast in person at your county auditor’s office during regular business hours from October 14 through November 2. A valid ID is required to vote.

Auditor’s offices can be found at the following locations:

Residents can check their voter registration status or find information about registering to vote through the Iowa Secretary of State’s website.

For registered voters who would like to vote by mail, requests for absentee ballots started on August 25. The deadline to request a mailed absentee ballot is October 19. Mailed ballots must be received by your county auditor before polls close at 8:00 p.m. on November 3 to be considered for counting.

For those planning to vote on election day, the polls will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 3. You can find your polling location by visiting the Iowa Secretary of State’s website or by contacting your county auditor’s office. Same-day voter registration will also be available at polling places.
