Fairfield IA | September 2026 -- Fairfield Community School District has been selected as a recipient of the Choose Iowa Local Food for Schools Program, which supports schools in purchasing Iowa-grown and Iowa-raised food. Fairfield Food Service received $1,600 in grant funding, which will be matched with $1,600 from the Food Service Fund for a total of $3,200 available for local food purchases.
The program connects Iowa schools with local farmers and food businesses while helping bring more locally produced foods to school menus.
