Fairfield, [July 24, 2023] - The Fairfield Community School District is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Stephanie Mishler as Interim Superintendent. Dr. Mishler assumed the role on July 18, 2023, following the retirement of Dr. Laurie Noll.

Dr. Mishler holds a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Drake University and has served as Associate Principal and Curriculum Director at FCSD. Her commitment to educational excellence and her ability to collaborate with teachers, staff, and the wider community will be invaluable as she leads the district during this transitional period.

The Fairfield Community School District Board of Education expresses its full confidence in Dr. Mishler's ability to guide the district forward. We have seen and greatly appreciate how she has stepped up and continued to help move the district forward over the last several months. Her vision, strategic thinking, and strong communication skills will be instrumental in maintaining the district’s commitment to student achievement and overall educational excellence.

In accepting the position, Dr. Mishler stated, "I am honored to have the opportunity to serve as the Interim Superintendent of the Fairfield Community School District. I am committed to promoting clear communication, fostering collaboration, and supporting the dedicated educators and staff in providing the best possible education for our students."

The Fairfield Community School District Board of Education will begin the search for a permanent superintendent and keep the community informed throughout the process. They sincerely thank the Fairfield community for their continued support and collaboration.


FCSD is also pleased to welcome Evan Marten as the new School Business Official (SBO). Mr. Marten joins our team with an exceptional background, bringing a wealth of experience and a strong commitment to supporting our educational community. Evan’s educational background includes a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance from the University of Maryland University College and a Master’s in Business Administration from Creighton University, where he concentrated on Investment Management and Financial Analysis. 

Mr. Marten's remarkable dedication to service extends beyond his former military career, as he has also made a significant impact in the field of education as a School Business Official. His most recent experience as the SBO for Charles City showcased his exceptional financial management skills and a profound understanding of the distinctive challenges that educational institutions encounter. Before entering the education field, Mr. Marten served in various financial roles within state government, 

culminating in his role as a Financial Manager in the Governor's office of Drug Control Policy. His diverse background and expertise will undoubtedly be valuable assets to our district as we continue to prioritize financial stability and academic excellence.

Mr. Marten began his duties on July 1, which include overseeing financial operations, budgeting, and resource allocation for the district. His commitment to transparency and efficiency will be essential in supporting FCSD's continued growth and success.
