During the summer, the students and teachers may not be hard at work in the district buildings, but what types of things really go on during the summer months?

The maintenance crew has been busy coordinating lots of major projects.  One such project has been taking place at the high school.  Remember the parking lot and the obstacle course that Mother Nature had set up through the years?

As you can see in the photo above, some of the parking lot was dug up to repair the damage that has naturally occurred over time.

The first area, known as the staff parking area, was completely removed and rebuilt.  Parts of the parking areas near the road were also cut out and replaced.

Once the cement was poured, the new black top was applied and new lines were painted!  One change is that in the student parking areas, the spaces were changed from angle parking to straight parking, and this was able to add an additional 20 parking places in the same space.

Using orange paint on the black surface not only looks really clean and nice, but it also allows the parking lot to shout "Go Trojans!".

Thank you to Werner Elmker for the awesome drone shots of the progress.
