On September 9, FMS 8th graders had a field trip to Lake Darling where they got to learn more about the park, go on a nature walk, drive boats, and even catch some fish! We are so grateful to those who volunteered their time to support our trip, as well as to the transportation department and middle school staff who planned a meaningful day for our students.

Thursday’s FMS Announcements, September 19th Teachers, please release the XC team and managers TODAY at 2 pm for their meet in Ft. Madison. Good luck, runners! --- Change of plans for the Volleyball games tonight. The 8th grade volleyball game has been moved to the middle school and will follow the 7th grade game. All 8th grade volleyball players need to report to Mrs. Polk's room after the walker bell. Good luck, teams! --- The Rabid Readers meet TODAY in Mrs. Edlin's room after school until 5:00. --- If you are interested in signing up for a Young Artists Class which will be held at the Fairfield Arts and Convention Center for 2nd through 6th graders. We have a paper in the office with information for sign up! --- Do you love all you can eat made from scratch buttermilk pancakes, along with sausage and a choice of drink? Of course, you do! Well, this Saturday from 6am to 1pm is your chance to get that tasty breakfast at the Kiwanis Kids Day celebration on the Fairfield square. Tickets are sold at the tent. Come for the pancakes and stay for the parade at 10am with many of your friends in the parade. There will be several bounce houses and other games and activities that are free. We will see you this Saturday on the square! --- HOMECOMING is next Friday, Sept 27th! Therefore, we will have dress up days all next week! YAY! Monday is Pajama Day, Tuesday is Hawaiian Shirt Day, Wednesday is Anything, but a Backpack Day, Thursday is Team Jersey Day, and Friday is Trojan Spirit Day – Orange & Black! --- Have a great day everyone!

MS VOLLEYBALL LOCATION CHANGE! Due to unavailability of officials in Keokuk, the 7th and 8th grade volleyball teams will BOTH play at HOME tonight (Thursday, Sept 19). 7th grade will play first at 4:30p followed by the 8th grade games with an estimated start time of 6:00p. Go Trojans!

Young Artist Class for 2nd through 6th graders

Tuesday’s FMS Announcements, September 17th 7th grade football players and cheerleaders will be dismissed at 3:00pm TODAY for a 3:15p departure over to the HS for their home game against Mediapolis. NO early release for the 8th grade Football team as they will have their own bus taking them to the HS at 4:00pm. Good luck, boys! --- In the 8th grade volleyball team’s opening night Monday, they won 2 sets and lost 4 sets. For serving, Lauren White went 11 for 11, Josie Mosinski went 10 for 12, and Nadia Royer went 5 for 5. Keep up the good work, ladies! --- Attention Builders Club members! You have been emailed a link to your school email to nominate club members for the roles of president, vice president, treasurer, and secretary of the club for this year. Tuesday’s FMS Announcements, September 10th 8th football players and the MS cheerleaders will be dismissed at 3:05 today for a 3:15 departure to ride the bus over to the HS for their home game tonight. 7th football is being dismissed at 2:35p for a 2:45p departure for their away game at Burlington. The Middle School Cross Country Teams kicked off their seasons in Ottumwa tonight. The Boys team won the team championship lead by Elijah Hamilton and Elisha Vander Linden, who finished 4th and 5th respectfully. Madilyn Miller finished 17th in the Middle School girls race:

Bible study will hold its first meeting THIS FRIDAY at 7:35a in Room 109 (the old FACS Room in the 6th grade hallway). It is open to ALL 5th through 8th grade students as well as staff.
