Pence and middle school staff took part in Core 3 Leader in Me training today! This training focused on service learning, student led conferences, and the 8th habit called finding your voice. This learning will help our staff action teams in developing and implementing plans for these things this year! Great way to kick off the week and focus on the positive things we have going on at schools for our kids!

Throughout the year, across the country, and in every community like Fairfield, a coach will be busy organizing teams, planning practices, and motivating student/athletes to be the best they can be. They will discover areas for improvement and supply guidance. Yes, every sport requires leaders and, more importantly, leaders who know the game and drive athletes to work together as one. That is why, on this special day, October 6, 2022 – National Coaches Appreciation Day, we stop, acknowledge, and celebrate the passion and dedication ALL Coaches provide that benefit our kids. WE THANK EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOU! You see, coaches help develop work ethics and set standards for our athletes that carry with them throughout their lifetime. For many, coaches teach them to focus and how to reach a goal – which sometimes is NOT about winning. Often, a coach's words will echo through an athlete's mind for years to come – sometimes in the most difficult of times. How many of us, today, remember a coach that made a difference in our lives? Rarely do our coaches know the impact they've had on an athlete until many decades pass. And athletes aren't the only beneficiaries from dedicated coaches. We parents, and the Community-at-Large are recipients as well. So, on this special day, let us make an effort to thank ‘THAT’ Coach who made a positive and lasting impact on you or your child. A coach who gave you or someone you love a chance when others didn’t. A coach who fostered confidence, motivation, and perseverance in your child. A coach who consistently empowered your student/athlete, a friend, or family member to meet goals and never give up despite the obstacles. Reach out with a note, email, phone call, letter, social media, or in person – We think if you do, you will be glad you did. And we bet you just might make ‘THAT’ Coaches Day! 8th graders were put to the test today as they explored habit #6: SYNERGIZE Each grade level has taken time this first quarter to review the 7 habits of highly effective teens. Today’s lesson focused on how we work as a team to collaborate! Students had a lot of fun giving directions while they were blindfolded to put a puzzle together. We learned in order to synergize we have to seek first to understand then to be understood, have trust in one another, clarify expectations, and give clear directions. Great way to end our day today!
