8th graders had a fantastic science field day at Jefferson County Park! Great weather with great fun!

Naturalist Brittney Tiller was given the 'Friend of Education' Award by the Fairfield Community Education Association this week. We can’t thank her enough for her hard work and dedication to our district and community. Brittney does a fantastic job organizing events and hosting field trips. She has even worked with our fifth grade team on an incentive program this year. She continues to think outside the box, works to engage learners, and build self-confidence. We are so thankful for her!

Abigale and Christian are grain-filling blemishes on their newly cut out guitars. This lift enrichment project is so neat to watch unfold!

CANCELED: The Middle School Boys Track Meet in Fairfield and the Middle School Girls Track Meet at Ft. Madison have both been CANCELED for tonight (Tuesday, May 3). #OneFairfield

Congratulations to Fairfield's 2022 Teacher of the Year, Hannah Baker! Hannah teaches at Pence Elementary and was selected to represent Fairfield's Teacher as their 2022 Teacher of the Year.

We are kicking off Teacher Appreciation Week with our wonderful student council making lunch for all of our teachers today. What a way to start it off!

We have had a lot of help this year from numerous people in our community stepping up to the plate to help fill vacant slots. We want to thank all of them. Today was
Ron Hunderdosse’s last day subbing in fifth grade math! We want to thank him for all he does for our school district and community. Today was his graduation day! Our staff and students gave him a signed shirt to send him on his way!

Due to the current and forecasted weather, today's (Friday, April 29) MS Girls Track Meet at Keokuk and tomorrow's (Saturday, April 30) HS Girls Tennis Tournament at Burlington has been CANCELED. Go Trojans! #OneFairfield

Meet this week's Staff Shout Out! Shawn Klehm from Fairfield Middle School. https://www.fairfieldsfuture.org/vnews/display.v/ART/626aa3ecf1a13

Students took over life skills class today and presented on habit # 4, think win-win. We have been studying this habit in our Trojan time groups as well as in life skills class. The students did a terrific job presenting with readings, videos, and through fun games like Kahoot. Way to go students! You are leading the way.

The BOGO book fair is happening this week at FMS Library! Please stop by and help support the library to buy new books, furniture, and more! The book fair will be open late on Thursday, April 28th until 5 p.m.!

Well the weather wasn’t the greatest but our students had fun yesterday at the Jefferson County Park! EB caught two fish and improved in his casting significantly! Lincoln caught LOTS of stick fish! 😊 A big thanks to Davis Lowenberg and Ryan Holthus for volunteering their time for this incentive program!

This past week in Trojan time we focused on community service and identifying needs in our community, nationally, or internationally that we can support. Students in trojan time collaborated, developed a plan, and created a goal to achieve this. Most of the groups will carry this out later in May but Mr. Rebling’s Trojan time did theirs this week. They recognized our awesome police force and served them this week. So proud of this group!

Congrats to Aries, Kendra, and Nolan for receiving the 8th grade shout outs this week! We are super proud of your hard work in classes! Keep up the great work!

Students are hooked 🪝 and engaged in science today as they dissect fish and learn about the anatomy! So neat and interesting! I could have stayed all day! 🎣

Finally! Some great weather. Students enjoyed pickle ball during PE today.

Well this is amazing! 🎸These four students have been working hard in their new LIFT enrichment groups. They are working with Mr. Roush on constructing guitars out of materials. This is a rough cut of the guitar body. Can’t wait to see the finished product! 🎶🪕🎶

This week has already been filled with lots of great learning for our staff. Staff took time to analyze our community day feedback forms from local businesses to identify celebrations and opportunities for growth for next year. This time to analyze our feedback and collaborate with one another was wonderful!
