
Congratulations Eli Zillman on winning the 3A State Title in the High Jump. Eli cleared 6-9 which also set the school record and currently the highest jump in the state and #49 in the country. Teammate Ryan Giberson finished 7th in the same event.

20 of our 7th graders opted to attend Build My Future in Burlington today sponsored by the Southeast Iowa Builder's Association. They got to spend time learning about interior and exterior construction and tour an equipment and tool showcase:






With 18 teams and 11 districts competing, the FMS Bookworms are the Battle of the Books champions for the 2023-2024 school year! The competition team included: Peyton Freeman, Taryn Roemen, Aubrey Ryan, Naomi Stiemsma, Sarayu Tejada, and Elliott Ward. Naomi Stiemsma also received an award for reading all 15 books! Way to go! We are so proud of you all!





Middle School Builders Club has been given the opportunity to plant and tend a garden plot at the Fairfield Community Garden. Students had orientation today with garden volunteers and will be planting the garden next Wednesday, May 15. Watering and weeding will take place throughout the summer with Builders Club advisors, Rachel Brown and Jay Thompson, and Fairfield Middle School Principal, Carly Marten.
According to Better Brain Nation Magazine, “Growing a plant involves various cognitive activities, such as planning, problem-solving, and learning about plant care” (5).
