Work hard. Play hard. Our amazing scholars met their WIG (wildly important goal) of 100% student involvement in a leadership position and/or extra curricular activity! 100% 👏 What an outstanding achievement that took place this year for all our staff and students. We couldn’t be more proud of their hard work! Since our students met their WIG we wanted to celebrate and play B I G today with a surprise day of fun! Students watched movies, had a glow dance party, and played outdoor activities. 🕺We wanted them to know how awesome they are and wanted to reward them for their amazing work this year! We also treated them to pizza, drinks, and ice cream. By the end of the day we were all tired from all the fun! Special thanks to our PTO for providing all the drinks and Fat Cow Creamery for driving over to give our students ice cream. 🍦It was so good! And a huge thank you to our staff who helped prepare this event for our kids!

On Tuesday, GOAL students traveled to Des Moines for a service-oriented field trip. They first visited Meals from the Heartland, where they helped to package 33,696 meals in just two hours. Then, they traveled to Camp Dodge to visit the Iowa Gold Star Military Museum, learning all about Iowans' military contributions both at home and around the world.
Aja and Kayla are two of our eighth graders who received a student shout out recently! So proud of their hard work in classes. Way to go!

Some of our middle school students got to attend the STEAM career fair at the Civic Center today! This was an event that was new this year and organized by our community for students to explore different career paths. So thankful for this new opportunity!

How cool is this! Six grader, Sarayu is the 2022 state champion for the Elks contest essay! Sarayu and the rest of the six graders wrote essays on what “our flag means to me.” As the state champion she receives $100 reward, dinner, and a special recognition ceremony. Way to go, Sarayu!
Our fifth graders had fun on our living history farms and capital tours in Des Moines today! The other half of the fifth grade get to go soon!
Our gentlemen‘s club is working on the skill of tying ties! This group meets during our enrichment lift time at the end of the day to work on things like manners, Trojan pride, leadership, and much more! Great work gentlemen!

Naturalist Brittney Tiller was given the 'Friend of Education' Award by the Fairfield Community Education Association this week. We can’t thank her enough for her hard work and dedication to our district and community. Brittney does a fantastic job organizing events and hosting field trips. She has even worked with our fifth grade team on an incentive program this year. She continues to think outside the box, works to engage learners, and build self-confidence. We are so thankful for her!
