The Fairfield Kiwanis Club provided 100% of the funding needed in order to purchase LifeVac devices for all four school buildings and the ACT Center. Pictured are our two school nurses, Heather Miller and Alicia Roop, receiving one of the devices from Kiwanis member and school counselor Jay Thompson. Multiple devices are located throughout each of the buildings to provide a rapid response option should a child or adult choke on an object. The device is a one-way suction device that is replaced for free if ever used to rescue someone. The FCSD thanks the Fairfield Kiwanis Club for their generosity and for their care for our students!

Pence Staff Shout-out for Deirdre Bachar!
This week’s shout-out goes to Deirdre Bachar. Deirdre has been our Instructional Coach at Pence for the past four years. Deirdre has a passion to serve our students and staff at Pence. You can catch her throughout the day planning with teachers, instructing students and doing what is needed on a day to day basis. To meet the needs of our Pence Family, you’ll find her here well beyond dismissal working with our teachers on various academic and instructional needs. We are so lucky to have someone like Deirdre on our staff, as she will always go above and beyond to serve others. Our Pence Family is very lucky to have someone like Deirdre Bachar!

Pence Staff Shout-out for Lynette Vivacqua
Every morning, despite the weather, Lynette is outside with our Pence Kiddos before school starts. She always greets me with a friendly "Good Morning" as I am scrambling for my key-card and generously lets me in the door. :)
In conversation, I have learned how much Lynette cares for the students she works with 1:1. She strives to set them up to be successful, even if that means making sure they have shoes that fit, or a coat when it's cold out if they are lacking a suitable one. She is fun to converse with, and though she may always be known as the "little teacher", I have learned when it comes to caring for the success of her students, her heart is mighty big!!! Thank you, Lynette for showing up each day ready to give your all!

Make-up Days / Last Day of School: We will be adding two days of school to the calendar to make up some snow days. Fairfield's last day of school will be Wednesday, May 31, with an early dismissal at 1:30 p.m.

The Pence Leader in Me Service Projects Team is collecting old books and non- perishables for our new little free library and pantry. Please consider donating by April 30th!
Thank you!
