The FCSD Board of Directors approved the early retirement of 13 dedicated employees, contributing a total of 241 years of service to our district. 🙌 Thank you to Kathy Box, Tina Breen, Debbie Finney, Mick Flattery, Fred Hucke, Shirly Haynes, Stephany Harward, Christe Lamansky, Karla Rebling, Christy Leazer, Linda Kennedy, Nancy Oliver, and Patricia Small for your incredible commitment. 

Exciting news! The FCSD Board of Directors has officially named the new high school auditorium the Mitcheltree, Slechta, Edgeton Auditorium, honoring three outstanding Fairfield alumni: 🎭Linda Mitcheltree was a Vocal Music Instructor from 1983 to 2009. 🎭Scott Slechta was an English Teacher from 1984 to 2017. In addition, he was the Fairfield High School drama director. Slechta was also named Iowa Teacher of the Year in 2016. 🎭Jim Edgeton was a Band Instructor from 1992 to 2021.

A voted Physical Plant and Equipment Levy will be on the ballot for the Fairfield Community School District on Tuesday, March 5! The PPEL is a voter-approved levy that generates funds our district can only use for infrastructure and equipment repairs, purchases, and improvements. FCSD is one of the more than 83% of Iowa school districts that relies on a voted PPEL.
