The Fairfield High School Speech Team had 8 entries in the Iowa High School Speech Association's Large Group Speech Contest held at Keota High School on Saturday, January 20th. All 8 groups earned Division I ratings and are advancing to the State competition to be held at Pleasant Valley High School on Saturday, February 3rd. This includes 3 Group Improvisations, 2 Ensemble Acting groups, a Musical Theatre, Group Mime, and a Radio Broadcast. All can be seen for free at FHS Night of Theatre this Friday, January 26th in the FHS Auditorium at 7:00 pm. Go Trojans! #OneFairfield

Here are the activity schedule changes for today (Monday, January 22).
Keokuk did not have school today, therefore, the 7th Girls and 8th Boys Basketball games vs Keokuk have been POSTPONED. A make-up date is TBD.
The HS Basketball games at Williamsburg have been changed to VARSITY ONLY contests. The Varsity Girls Game will START AT 5:00pm with the Varsity Boys game to follow.
The MS Wrestling Meet in Ottumwa is still on as scheduled. 4:30pm start in Ottumwa

Exciting news! The FCSD Board of Directors has officially named the new high school auditorium the Mitcheltree, Slechta, Edgeton Auditorium, honoring three outstanding Fairfield alumni:
🎭Linda Mitcheltree was a Vocal Music Instructor from 1983 to 2009.
🎭Scott Slechta was an English Teacher from 1984 to 2017. In addition, he was the Fairfield High School drama director. Slechta was also named Iowa Teacher of the Year in 2016.
🎭Jim Edgeton was a Band Instructor from 1992 to 2021.
