Shayla Filson is a 1st grade teacher at Washington Elementary. She grew up in Keosauqua, Iowa and graduated high school from the Van Buren Community School District. She recently graduated from Central College with a degree in Elementary Education with endorsements in special education and reading. She enjoys spending time with my family working on their family farm. She has a passion for teaching children and wants to inspire them to become problem solvers, critical thinkers, and life-long learners. Shayla is very excited to work with such a fantastic school district and community.
