Shawna Applegate (formerly Dickey) has been teaching in Fairfield since 1999. She currently teaches first grade at Washington Elementary after one year of kindergarten. Her educational background includes a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from Iowa State University, and a Masters of Arts degree in Teaching from Morningside College. In addition she holds endorsements in Reading and Social Studies. Mrs. Applegate is a member of the Iowa Reading Association.
