A Fairfield High School graduate of the class of 1987, Staci Wright has been teaching special education at Fairfield High School since 2006. She has served as the department's work experience coordinator since 2008. Prior to returning to her alma mater, she taught language arts at Pekin High School for four years and served as the school's speech, drama and drill team coach. Mrs. Wright attended Cornell College in Mt. Vernon, Iowa; Indian Hills Community College in Ottumwa, Iowa; Buena Vista University, Ottumwa Center; and University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls, Iowa. She graduated with a bachelor of arts degree in English in 1997 and earned her bachelor of arts degree in secondary language arts education in 2001. In 2003, she completed literature and composition coursework at the Advanced Placement Teacher Training Institute at the University of Iowa, and in 2008, she earned an endorsement in 5-12 multi-categorical special education/resource. She earned her endorsement in work-experience coordination in 2012 and is currently finishing course work for endorsements in U.S. history and multi-occupational coordination. Mrs. Wright also served as the chairperson for the FHS Renaissance Program from 2006 to 2013 and heads up a variety of service-oriented projects at FHS.
