Sharon Flinspach Algebra 2 / Computer Science/TAG |

Sharon Flinspach has been teaching mathematics at Fairfield High School since she began her teaching career in 1979. She graduated from Drake University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics and from Northwest Missouri State University with a Master’s of Science in School Computer Studies. The math course she currently teaches is Algebra 2. Mrs. Flinspach also teaches Project Lead the Way Computer Science, which is a 2-semester class covering Algorithms and Programming, The Internet, Data, and “Intelligent Behavior”. She also teaches Advanced Placement Computer Science (APCS) using the Java programming language. In addition she coordinates and teaches the Talented and Gifted class at the high school, and holds endorsements in Math, TAG, and Computer Science. She is a senior class sponsor. Mrs. Flinspach holds memberships in several professional organizations, including the National Education Association, the Iowa State Education Association, and Iowa Council of Teachers of Mathematics. She has been included in the publication "Who's Who among America's teachers" several times and was Fairfield's "Teacher of the Year " for FHS in 2006.
