Eleven Fairfield FFA Members attended the Iowa FFA Leadership Conference on April 19-20 in Des Moines, Iowa.  On Monday, April 19, the Experience the Action Team, composed of Dillan Post, Adrian Scotton, Sterling Spees, Briana Steele, and Madisyn Woodburn, placed 10th, with a Bronze rating in their contest.  Chapter President Brad Smithburg and Vice President Daniel Baldosier served as delegates at the delegate session.  All members attended the First General Session that evening.

On Tuesday, April 20, the Ag Sales Team competed in team and individual events, receiving a Silver rating.  The Team consisted of Nick Kaska, Blake Metz, Brad Smihburg, and Nate Smithburg.  Nick Kaska received 22nd place in Individual Sales, and Brad Smithburg received 16th place in the test.  Daniel Baldosier and Phoebe Fiedler participated in Poultry Judging, receiving a bronze rating as a team.  Phoebe Fiedler placed 28th in the Egg Grading category.  In the afternoon, all members attended the Fourth General Session, where Brad Smithburg was recognized for receiving his Iowa FFA Degree, the highest degree the Iowa FFA Association can bestow upon its members.  Adrian Scotton won a $50 gift card in the drawing for completing the Convention Scavenger Hunt.

The chapter would like to thank Libertyville Savings Bank for gifting $20 to each FFA member to spend on meals while attending convention.  They would also like to thank Nikki Metz for serving as a chaperone.  We are grateful to all of the school employees and parents who helped line up everything for this trip.
