Congratulations to FHS Esports Club member Nicole Sutherland
The FHS Esports Club continues to grow and make a name for themselves. This winter, club member Dallas Carlson entered a "Beyond the Game Challange" through NASEF. NASEF is the national esports federation that our local club belongs to. Throughout the year they will offer challenges that students can volunteer for and be judged. Each winner, as selected by a panel of judges, wins a $500 scholarship, 15 minutes with an esports professional and then usually an additional prize that is specific to their challenge.
Most recently, the FHS Esports Club was notified by its second challenge winner. In the spring, Nicole Sutherland decided to submit a piece of original fan art as an entry in this particular challenge.

The challenge is listed below:
"Creating fan art requires you to build on the existing lore, characters, and worlds that exist within the esports realm. Character concept artists and costume designers help bring characters and creatures to life. They draw inspiration from as little as a napkin sketch or as much as a full-blown narrative concept and generate ideas and craft designs that are compelling and iconic. Respectful digital citizens honor the intellectual property of others and give credit where credit is due.
Create digital fan art inspired by your favorite game!"
Besides the scholarship and 15 minutes with an esports professional, Nicole also was awarded a set of Copic Markers to continue working on creating more fan art.
Congratulations to Nicole on your scholarship....keep up the good work.
Nicole also actively participates with the Super Smash Bros Ultimate team for the district.
