FHS Esports Smash Team Still On A Roll

On Thursday, November 7th, the FHS Esports Smash team took on WACO in another scrimmage.  This time many more inexperienced players took the stage as they tried to gain more playing time against other opponents.   WACO has become a regular opponent and their matches are greatly appreciated.  The competition was much more evenly matched that night and provided some great matches.  When the night was over, FHS won the match 2-0.

The next week, Monday, November 11th, some of the more experienced players had a match against Colfax-Mingo High School.  CMHS participated in the beta season of Smash in the newly formed "Iowa High School Esports Association".  The students were excited to see how they could compete with a team who just played in the beta season.  Zach, Dallas, JJ, Jacob and Grant took the field with characters such as Jigglypuff, Little Mac, Mario, Wii Fit Trainer, Cloud, Gannondorf and Terry Bogard.  Jigglypuff took the first loss of the first match before Terry Bogard went on a winning streak.  Fairfield held on to win the first match.  The second match was back and forth at the beginning also, but Fairfield pulled out the second win also to take the best 2 of 3 matches.

CMHS was a great opponent, and just like WACO, the students enjoyed the competition and are looking forward to another match in the near future.
