FMS Students of the Month

May 2019

Each school month, the Fairfield Elks Lodge sponsors the Fairfield Middle School “Students of the Month” award. The purpose of this award is to acknowledge positive contributions of FMS students at school. These positive contributions range from assisting teachers and peers in classroom activities to displaying characteristics as a role model in and out of the classroom. The ‘Students of the Month’ certificates are awarded after a nomination and voting process is completed by each grade level teaching team.

Dain Burkhart has been selected to receive the Student of the Month Award for the month of May.  Dain always pushes himself to learn new things.   He works well with others and is responsible about getting his work done on time.  Dain has really focused on improving the skills he needs to be successful.  He demonstrates good leadership skills when he works with others. Keep up the good work, Dain!  Congratulations!

Teague Hannes has been chosen as the 5th grade Student of the Month for May.  Teague brings his humor and easy-going style with him each day to school.  He puts forth his best effort on all that he does in class.  Teague works well with others and treats his classmates with respect.  I can always count on Teague to think outside the box and keep trying even when things get difficult.  Keep up the great work, Teague!

Elyse Setterstrom has been chosen as May Student of the Month. Elyse is a hard-working student. She puts her best effort into everything she does. Even when things get a little challenging, she doesn’t give up. She continues to persevere and finds a way to accomplish her goals. Elyse is a leader for her peers, wants to do what’s right and chooses to show integrity in the classroom and out. Congratulations Elyse!

I would like to nominate Daisy Trent as student of the month. Daisy is a delight to have in the classroom. She works very hard every day and doesn’t give up easily when the task is challenging. One of Daisy’s best qualities is her consistent work ethic. I appreciate everything that she has to offer - her great attitude, and her determination to overcome difficult tasks. I am very proud of you Daisy! Keep up the excellent work!

Haley Hughes holds her integrity high in the classroom; that is one reason why she is the recipient of the May 2019 Student of the Month Award. Haley is also very helpful to others in the classroom. She pushes herself to do her very best and is great at encouraging others around her to do the same. Haley can be depended on to come to class prepared. Furthermore, Haley adds a tremendous amount to classroom discussions and group learning opportunities. Congratulations, Haley, on your success!

Growth is an important word that describes Lindsey Knopp; that is an important reason why she is the recipient of the May 2019 Student of the Month award. Her 7th grade teachers are very proud of the growth that she has made this past year. This growth has helped her confidence; allowing her to have a growth mindset; being willing to take risks, make mistakes and learn from them. Not only has she shown growth, but she is conscientious with her work, participates in class, and leads her peers in group conversations. Congratulations, Lindsey on your accomplishments this year!

The 8th-grade team would like to recognize Felix Wingo for Student of the Month. Felix can always be counted on to show respect to his teachers and peers. His positive attitude, smile, and sense of humor are appreciated every day.

The 8th-grade team is excited to recognize Giteeka Adhikari as May's Student of the Month. Giteeka consistently shows Trojan PRIDE in and out of the classroom.
