FMS Students of the Month

September 2018

Each school month, the Fairfield Elks Lodge sponsors the Fairfield Middle School “Students of the Month” award. The purpose of this award is to acknowledge positive contributions of FMS students at school. These positive contributions range from assisting teachers and peers in classroom activities to displaying characteristics as a role model in and out of the classroom. The ‘Students of the Month’ certificates are awarded after a nomination and voting process is completed by each grade level teaching team.

Carsen Eklund was chosen for a 5th grade September Student of the Month.  Since the day we started school, Carsen has shown great leadership skills by focusing and participating well in class.  He makes responsible decisions, and this makes him a good role model to others.  He has a great mind-set which is helping him to succeed.  Keep up the outstanding work, Carsen!

Alexis Megrath has been selected as the 5th grade September Student of the Month.  Alexis has hit the ground running this school year. She is someone who puts forth 100% effort at all times.  When things are difficult she asks for extra help and wants to improve herself. I can count on her to be a leader in and out of the classroom.  She is a great example of Trojan PRIDE!  Keep up the excellent work, Alexis!

The 6th grade team is pleased to announce that Dylan Adam has been selected as the 6th grade September Student of the Month. Dylan has been working well with others, has a positive attitude, and loves to learn. Dylan is a quiet leader, who is able to add positively to all class discussions.  Keep it up and congratulations, Dylan!

Kenna Haynes has been chosen as the 6th grade Student of the Month for September. Kenna always works hard in class and has a great sense of humor. She is encouraging and helpful to other students in her group, especially when they are struggling. We appreciate all the hard work that Kenna has shown as she begins 6th grade!

The 7th grade team would like to announce that Mazie Zimmer has earned September Student of the Month. She can be described as a standout in class, asking strong questions to maximize her learning. Mazie also contributes to a positive classroom culture by having a growth mindset, which leads to being an exemplary Trojan Pride leader. Overall, Mazie exhibits hard work and is a bright spot in any class. Congratulations, Mazie!

The 7th grade team would like to congratulate Gavin Titus for being named September Student of the Month. Gavin is an enthusiastic learner who wants to do right by his teachers and peers. In fact, his teachers learn from him because he asks good questions and takes risks with his learning. Additionally, Gavin possesses a strong sense of integrity and is a proponent of what is right in all situations. Congratulations, Gavin!

DaJanae Early in the "early" part of this school year has shown great Trojan PRIDE -- Keep it up, girl!  She has been a leader in the classroom, raising her hand to eagerly participate in discussions and share wonderful ideas and insights.  She has been helpful and kind to her peers, encouraging them when needed and praising them when appropriate.  She has so far proven herself to be a great asset to the 8th grade classrooms.  Well done, DaJanae.  Be proud of yourself!  We are happy you are here!

Trey Hunter has been named 8th grade September Student of the Month. Trey has started out the year awesome! We have seen great leadership qualities in several of his classes. Trey has really stood out by actively participating in discussion and group work during class. Trey is interested in learning, and focused and he also motivates his classmates to do the same. You can tell he is eager to learn. Congratulations, Trey!
