Anatta Charoenkul wins State Title & is Girls' Tennis All-Iowa Athlete of the Year
Anatta Charoenkul was the #1 player for the Girls’ Tennis Team during the 2017 season. She was undefeated during the regular season and made it to State. At State, Anatta was "the unquestioned queen of Class 1A". Not only did she win the state crown, she didn’t even lose a game until the title match against Olivia Fain from Waterloo Columbus.
Charoenkul had a regular season record of 17-0 and a 148-4 game record. Anatta ended the 2017 season with a record of 25-0 and a game record of 244-11. Over the two seasons that Anatta has played for the High School Girls’ Tennis team, she has an overall record of 45-1.
Anatta was chosen as a member of the Elite Team for the Des Moines Register. She was then a finalist for The Des Moines Register Sports Awards Girls’ Tennis Player of the Year Award. She then received the Girls’ Tennis All-Iowa Athlete of the Year Award and met Shaquille O’Neal.
