The first Friday in May is National School Lunch Hero Day.  Today throughout the district, the Lunch Ladies and our one Food Dude were celebrated for the hard work they do each day to bring nutritious meals to the students at Fairfield CSD.  Each school day many of the food service staff start at 6:30 a.m.to begin to prepare the meals for the day.  This year they have already served 215,807 meals to students and staff.  This is an increase of 17,105 meals served in the same amount of days compared to last year.  Why do they do this each day?  Because they love the students, they serve.  I have had conversations with the staff about their concerns regarding specific students and the struggles the students are having.  Each day they greet the students with a smile, call them by name and talk with them about their day.   I am proud to say I am a part of this amazing team.  Special thanks to each person and group that took the time to recognize the work the food service staff do each day!
