Girls Who Code Club

GIRLS WHO CODE
Beginning Wednesday, Sept. 7th, Fairfield will attempt to close the gender gap in technology by offering Iowa’s second Girls Who Code club. 
WHAT ARE GIRLS WHO CODE (GWC) CLUBS?
Girls Who Code is a national nonprofit organization leading the movement to inspire, educate and equip girls with the computing skills to pursue 21st-century opportunities. Through our Summer Immersion Program and Girls Who Code Clubs, we aim to close the gender gap in technology.
·         FREE—Afterschool computer science classes that meet on Wednesdays during the academic year from 5-7pm, starting September 7th.
·          Who—Clubs are open for all girls in 6th-12th grade in Jefferson County (Maharishi, homeschool, Fairfield Middle School, and Fairfield High School). 
·         Where – The club is hosted at Fairfield High School in the new 21st Century Room thanks to the Fairfield Community School District.
·         Facilitator—Anu Ghimire, computer science major working locally at Cambridge
