Students enjoy kickball on our new asphalt hard surface.

Playground receives new surface!

Over the summer Mr. McElwee coordinated the installation of new asphalt overlay for the entire playground area.  It had been several years since the surface had been replaced.  It was deteriorating and was developing some major cracks.  The crew had to cut out all depression areas and fill those before the new overlay could be put down.

The new overlay is 2 - 3" thick and, with yearly maintenance, is expected to last 15 - 20 years.  The project was completed in one day.  It will  provide a safe and fun place for children to play before school, during recess, and after school.
