New Faces at FHS
As your wander through the halls this year, you will find that we have new faces in the classroom. All of our new staff come with great qualifications and will add to the already excellent instruction. The following is a brief introduction of our new staff at FHS.
Jaime Hardin will be teaching Government, Sociology, and Economics. She is a first year teacher. She received her teaching degree from Buena Vista University. She is also a graduate of Fairfield High School.
Gordon Hackett will be teaching Integrated Science. He is also a first year teacher. He received his teaching degree from the University of Iowa.
David Kraemer will be teaching Art. He comes to us with 12 total years with 11 of those years in Minnesota. He is also a graduate of Fairfield High School.
Dennis Dey will be teaching Chemistry and Physics. He comes to us from Interstate 35 High School where he was there for 3 years.
Beth Byers will be teaching English, Composition, and Independent Reading. She comes to us from Cedar Rapids Xavier and prior teaching experience at the post secondary level.
Betty Mayer will be teaching Secondary Reading Strategies and working with the ELL students. She has been a vocal music teacher at the middle school in previous years.
Ann Wenger will be teaching in Vocational Agriculture department. She brings with her 6 years of prior teaching experience at Vilisca and Andrew High School.
Gay Chapman will be in the Special Education Department with a focus of Science Integration. She previously has been the Fairfield Middle School Science teacher for many years prior to this position.
Ken Peek will be teaching Physical Education. He comes to us with 12 years of prior teaching experience. He will also be an assistant coach with the varsity football team at FHS.
