And So It Begins....

The first day comes and goes at FMS.

August 20th came more quickly than many people had anticipated as students poured into the middle school for the first day of class. Around 400 students were in the seats of the middle school classrooms, eagerly awaiting instruction from the teachers. Despite the additions of many new people throughout the building in a variety of areas, the day seemed to go off without a hitch.

Mrs. Wear instructs the students on the finer points of locker combination skills.

The students will follow a heat schedule during the first three days of school. This gets the students in the classrooms and out again before the heat becomes unbearable in the middle of the afternoon. Starting Monday, August 25th, the students will return to normal schedules. During the regular schedule at the middle school, classes will start at 8:30 a.m. and end at 3:30 p.m..

The staff at FMS are extremely glad to have the students back and look forward to a great year!
