Open House a Big Success!
by Sue McCracken
The rooms were filled with balloons and eager children were filled with both excitement and apprehension while visiting the open house the day before school officially arrived. Teachers have been working many extra days to prepare rooms and activities for the children. Starting school on a Wednesday and having shorter days is a real benefit for students who aren't used to getting up so early and having to sit for any length of time.
Thanks to all our parents and extended families who took the time to bring their students to meet their teachers and see the building. A special thanks to Valerie Hudson for her efforts as our Box Tops for Education coordinator who brought and filled helium balloons for our students. Valerie no longer has students attending Lincoln, but loves us so much she is continuing to help us raise funds through the Box Tops program. Also thanks to AirGas for providing the helium and tank rental free of charge.
We're off to a great start! Thanks to everyone who makes this school a great place to be each and every day.
Balloons are fun!
