Third graders: Say 'Hi' to Mrs. Hutchings!
by Sue McCracken
There will be a new face walking the halls of Lincoln School this year, and that face belongs to our new third grade teacher, Deanna Hutchings. Mrs. Hutchings graduated from Davis County High School and attended Indian Hills Community College for two years, receiving her Associate of Arts degree and Coaching Authorization. Mrs. Hutchings went on to William Penn University and received her Bachelor of Arts degree with endorsements in reading and ESL. Mrs. Hutchings taught 3rd grade and coached 9th grade volleyball in Fort Madison, IA, for a year before moving to Fairfield in 2007. Last year she taught 3rd grade at Washington Elementary School, but due to the elimination of a section of third grade for this coming school year, we were fortunate to have Mrs. Hutchings transfer to our Lincoln third grade when that position was vacated by Mrs. Kann transferring to second grade at Pence.
Mrs. Hutchings will be a great addition to our talented staff. Please take a moment to stop in and welcome her to our school!
